How do I fix audio quality or volume issues?

You’ve stumbled onto a tricky one! Audio quality isn’t always something REF-UL can directly control. Our catalog includes audiobooks from a wide range of content creators, including publishers of all sizes, ministries, and authors. Some of these recordings were produced many years ago, when audio standards weren’t as high as they are today.

If you consume audiobooks regularly, you know quality can vary quite a bit. That said, we do our best to feature only professionally produced titles—either narrated by professional voice talent or recorded by authors using high-quality studio setups.

We don’t include public domain or low-quality “LibriVox-style” recordings in our catalog. Nearly all of our audiobooks come from reputable publishers and creators who take pride in their work.

Is every book identical in quality? No—but it should always meet a solid industry-standard level of clarity and production.

If you come across something that sounds distorted, unusually quiet, or just plain unlistenable, please let us know so we can review it and take appropriate action.

As for volume issues, those are rare—most publishers master their audiobooks to consistent loudness standards. However, if a title sounds unusually quiet or uneven, try switching between headphones and speakers; sometimes that can make a big difference in the listening experience.

And if one book just isn’t working for you—no worries! There are over 3,000 other titles waiting for you on REF-UL.
